Two judokas of the region are distinguished in the first day of competition at the national Championships Elite, which takes place until Sunday in Montreal.
The young athlete of 16 years old Simon Packet of Dolbeau-Mistassini has won the gold medal in the under 18 years of age in the category of 55 kilos. Thanks to this victory, he gets his pass to represent Canada at the World championships that will take place in Germany and Portugal next march.
It is a first gold medal Package, which had to settle for third place in the last two years at this same competition.
The Dolmissoise Marie Besson, 20 years, has done the same by winning the honours in the women in the category of 52 kilograms. The two judokas are from the judo club Albatross Dolbeau-Mistassini
The national Championships Elite pits the eight best judokas in the country in each weight category.
The Jonquiérois Antoine Bouchard (73 kg) and the Almatois François Gauthier-Drapeau (81 kg) have not taken part in the competitions on Saturday.
