The Skiathlon Vo2/Bec-Scie to Bay Sunday
On Sunday, the centre plein air Bec-Scie, in The Bay, will host the second edition of the Skiathlon Vo2/Bec-Scie. This single event on the circuit, regional and cross-country ski on the provincial circuit of the Master is to chain a 10 km cross-country ski in classic style and then a 10 km-style skating, and this, in a team or individually.
Organized by the Boutique Vo2, the event is expected to attract some thirty participants despite the cold weather announced. “This is the only skiathlon of the circuit of the Masters and it’s been a challenge different which runners are fond,” says Dominic Piché, which is part of the organizing committee.
The latter admits that the organization would have liked to announce an increase in the number of participants, but the cold weather leaves rather a glimpse of a participation equivalent. In addition, the organization would have liked to extend the course 15 km, but even then, cold announced the rather encouraged to maintain the status quo.
It will be possible to register on site between 8: 30 and 9: 30 a.m. Sunday morning, at a cost of $ 15 for youth (atom, pee-wee, midget, and juvenile) and $ 40 for adults. The distance for the young ranges from 1 to 5 km depending on the categories and the departure is scheduled for 10 h. For adults, the distances are maintained at a 10-km for classic and skating, with a transition zone. Their departure is set for 11 a.m.
