Speed skating: the regional tangle with the best

Patinage de vitesse: les régionaux se frottent aux meilleurs

The Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean was once again well represented at the third competition of the circuit provincial Elite of short track speed skating, at the end of the week, in Lévis. A delegation of 14 skaters, including six members of the centre Marc Gagnon (CMG), has had the opportunity to rub shoulders with several members of the national team present for the occasion.

Claudia Gagnon, a member of the national team at the first world Cups of the season, found his teammates on the CMG during the two days of competition. The Baieriveraine took the opportunity to be the best of the regional representatives, with a third place in the rollup.

The Félicinoise Kasandra Bradette was also to return to competition after suffering a concussion in training in the fall. This injury made him miss the calendar fall on the world circuit. Bradette, who only took part in the 500 metres, did well with a ninth place in the cumulative.

Among men, the young Justin Bergeron has made the full experience by qualifying for the finals in the 1000 m. It has finally taken the 12th place in the cumulative ranking.

In total, 53 skaters and 50 skaters were in action.
